I have my revision DS surgery on June 26th and only lost 24 pounds so far. The first month I lost 24 pounds but the last three weeks I have lost zero. I am very frustrated, I'm walking almost 1-2 miles now a day, I'm trying to eat which is difficult, protein drinks are horrible but I'm very upset because this was a  revision and I was expecting to lose weight, my starting weight was 324 I went down as low as 299 since surgery but as of today I'm 302. I don't know what else to do. I would really like to talk to other ds patients to find out what's going on and to see what you all have experienced following having a DS revision.

I know some revision folks have much slower weight loss than virgin DSrs. I sure hope yours is just a short slow down and will pick up soon.

I did not know that Gina thank you. It is so frustrating I can't eat but I can't lose either even drinking is difficult. Have been sick since 3 o'clock this morning and so hard to hold even the smallest amount down and I can't even take my medicine. I saw that we had the same surgeon he did my original one 10 years ago and I have no regrets but I lost 176 pounds within one year 10 years ago and now I can't even lose 25 with this one and I with this surgery I had some astronomical pain. Was your surgery  revision or are you a virgin DS? Thanks for responding.

I was a virgin DS with Dr E. I know revisions can have a rougher time. Are you able to keep water down? You might want to give the office a call or go to the ER at Fairfax or Fair Oaks. You gotta get some relief and you need to be able to keep some food or protein shake down.

I can keep a very limited amount of water down. I may have drank maybe 14 ounces of water today and I am about to go and get me some more cold water and mix it with a little bit of lemon juice to try to get hopefully 14 ounces down. I find I can tolerate it better if I put lemon juice in it. I did place a call out to Dr. E office. I really wish I could find some local support groups for people who had surgeries like ours in my area which is southern Maryland.

The next meeting at Dr E's office is Sept 4 at 7PM. There are a few of us DSrs that meet socially from time to time. We call ourselves MADS (MidAtlantic DSrs).  The next one is Sept 15 up near Baltimore.

That is great to know, I did not know of his next group meeting I could have called and asked tho. And I have never heard of your group, do they have a Facebook site or anything. I would truly be interested in attending that meeting,  does it normally have a large attendance?

The social group i**** or miss. We've had as few as 3 and as many as 20. I'll PM you my Facebook contact info and hook you up with our MADS group and the DS Facebook group.

As revisions, the long stalls and slower weight loss are frustrating.

I'm concerned about your hydration, though. Hope you get in touch with your surgeon soon. Have you tried different temps of fluids? I sipped on tomato soup with cheese melted in it for quite awhile. Don't remember even trying any protein drinks until about a month out.
