Iowa Medicaid help!!

I had my surgery back in 2009 and have done great.  I am writing this for my sister who has now been approved for Medicaid.  She is going to the doctor next week to start the path to the Duodenal Swtich.  Has anyone gone through medicaid, Iowa Medicaid, and what are the qualifications.  She really needs this and I hope she can be as successfull as I have been.

I don't know anything about Iowa Medicaid - sorry! - but wanted to mention that your sister needs to make sure she is referred to a surgeon who does the DS. Many don't, and I don't know of any bariatric surgeon in Iowa who does the DS, so just alert her to make sure she gets the right referrals.
     Yous sister is very lucky to have you helping her and blazing the trail for her.

I agree with Larra above.
I don't think any surgeons in Iowa do the DS.  I believe her best bet will be to go to Dr. Anthone in Omaha, Nebraska.  Unless this has changed recently, he accepts many Medicaid patients. 

I second that for Dr. Anthone here in Omaha, NE. He takes medicaid and just did the DS on my mother recently. Absolutely love the guy first rate surgeon too.

Seen many people come from out of state the last 4 years to have him do DS for what it's worth.
