Another Protein Shake and Vitamin post
I'm not much help--I always buy vitamins and protein (Syntrax Nectar) from Vitalady.com. She's done a good job shopping for the best bang for the buck. So, it's quality for sure at a competitive cost.

I'm not a vet, but I'm certainly no newbie to supplements. I've found that in shopping between two major online retailers, Puritan's Pride and Swanson's Vitamins, I can usually get an absolutely amazing deal on my vitamins. I go between the two because often when one has a great sale the other will not.
I get the simple vitamins locally (Centrum, zinc, calcium, B12), taking advantage of BOGO deals and stocking up. I get the dry versions of K, E, A and D and copper from vitalady.com
For protein - wait until you're post op before you buy anything more than single servings to sample, and don't taste until you're post op - when everything changes.

I've nicknamed myself the "Shake Commando", because I buy unflavored whey protein isolate. It's more versatile than flavored WPI, in that you can use extracts and your sugar-free sweetener of choice to flavor your shakes your way. You can also add the unflavored powder to soups, stews, and sauces, to get more protein into food.
I get my WPI as well as my vites from luckyvitamin.com. In a pinch, I go to a local health food store for the WPI, but the vites are strictly mail order. I've found that's the only way to get the potencies that we need. You can also buy 10# bags of WPI by mail order. I do mail order for vites, too, some from Vitalady, others elsewhere. it just depends on who has the best price for what I need. Lucky Vitamins has been my go-to mail order store. Lots of online BOGO specials!
