Just a quick question...
Is the duodenal switch the same thing as gastric bypass surgery or is it a different thing altogether?

 Totally different and well worth learning about.
Take the time to learn about the DS, RNY and VSG too.  They all approach obesity differently, which is good because we are obese for different reasons.
