Flagyl

 Things have been a little "off" for me and I wanted to try a round of Flagyl so Dr. Greenbaum gave me a script. I started on Saturday and yesterday the flood gates opened with diarrhea. I know taking an antibiotic can cause this, but have any of you experienced this, and if so, what did you do? Did you continue to take it for the remainder of time? He said to take  250 mg 3x a day, but I knocked it down to 2x a day. I'm staying really hydrated, but off to work I go and I know this could be trouble! LOL Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yep, I had to reduce the dose like you did but it worked for me and still does. Good luck.

 Thanks, Gina. Today was very trying at work to say the least. I'm thinking of stopping it all together. I'll be alone at work all week and it's a very busy office. I had to take Pepto today to gain a little relief. I'm disappointed.

 Sadly, no. I may try again, but I will just start with 1 or 2/day. grrrr

 At least 2 hours after a dose, take some yogurt or other probiotic to repopulate the colony you just wiped out.

 I take 2 Primal Defense Ultra a day AND eat Fage. Thanks for trying!

Yoghurt is a good idea, but probably not a high enough amount of the "good" bugs to repopulate your gut. Try a strong probiotic such as Primal Defense Ultra.

 is Flagyl the only antibitotic that wiped out the intestinal baterias? I was just on a Z pack for 5 days for strep throat. Just curious . . .
