Several levels are still up and over the top and I've already cut the doses back. I'll have to cut back more on some and cut out entirely on the A and B-complex. Not sure what to do about iron. I'd cut to 3 capsules of Tender a day and Proferrin 3 times a week. Ferritin came in at 325 but iron serum is only 66. H & H are normal.

Keep those fluids going even if you can't eat much right now. It will good to have restriction once you're healed. That's a good thing. :)

I asked my chiropractor yesterday if the torn tissue (inflammation) in my shoulder could cause a rise in ferritin. He wasn't sure but was going to call someone he thought would be able to answer the question. I've had the tear for about 3 months--he thought it might possibly be the cause since the shoulder has been inflamed so long.

What Iron pills do you take? Are they highly effective?

I've been taking a combo of Vitalady's Tender iron (carbonyl) capsules and Proferrin ES (heme). My iron markers have improved greatly over the past 3 years. I was taking 5 Tender iron in the afternoons away from everything else and taking 2 Proferrin at bedtime. My dietitian adjusted me back to 3 Tender iron capsules and Proferrin Mon, Wed & Fri six months ago. My ferritin went up a little to 325 and my iron serum and H&H dropped a little. And strangely, my copper dropped way off but I still take it just as I always have. There's a relationship between copper and iron but I'm not sure that there's agreement on if we should or shouldn't take it at the same time as iron. So, I'm going to take copper away from everything else and see if I can bring those numbers up. The tweaking never stops, does it?
