It has been 3 years.

I was telling sone of my students a story about why you don't want to lie on an interview and ended up telling them about a woman I know who used an English. Accent to land a teaching job only to have to face the HR manager a few weeks later!

lol Can't believe you still remember that.  It wasn't really HR though - I faced the lady who did the interview (she was just a teacher at one of the schools in the district).  She actually likes me a lot.

I wasn't really lying...I never actually claimed to be British (remember my mum is from South Africa)...and I did confess to the people at my school. They laughed and said I have moxie...whatever that means.

It was a social experiement...I was just tired and felt defeated so I thought I might as well go for it. It was that or just go home. Job fairs are a bear.

You will be happy to know that I am the department chair now. I am running the department...scary, huh? lol

Wow good memories.  I got out of it after the first year. Thank goodness! lol

I'm terrifc. Unfortunately have gained back abt 10 lbs. Need to hit the backpacking trail! I have been far too lazy this past winter.

Only ten pounds from your lowest weight? That is not bad at all, silly.

Congratulations on what sounds like a wonderful  new life!  College was a time of huge changes for me, but I think you might have your head on a bit straighter than I did.  It's so good to see your posts and let us all share in your successes. Thanks, and the best to you in the times ahead!
