HC vs. 1/2 & 1/2
I use 1/2 & 1/2 because we go through so much of it during the week in protein shakes. If you're really watching every carb, heavy cream would be better if it has no added sugar.

Thanks for the reply, MajorMom. I usually use 1/2 & 1/2 in my protein coffees but wondered about heavy cream. I use about 3-4 oz of 1/2 & 1/2 and make the shake and then dump in the coffee. Is this how you make yours? Seems scary to use so much 1/2 & 1/2 you know? Gotta wrap your mind around it that it's okay. :)

I switched to heavy whipping cream for a little over a month from using whole milk. But, it threw off my protein numbers. For a variety of reasons, it threw me way off. So, I went back to whole milk and my protein numbers have been much better. I started exercising and that seems to make the difference for me in terms of the increased carbs.
