I don't take E or K so I can't help with that but the dry forms of the A & D in the doses we need are only available in the US.  I tried and tried to find them in Canada but couldn't - I tried to get people at a supplement store to order them in and promised customers from Canada because the shipping would be cheaper etc with no luck.  I suspect it has to do with government regulations and not being allowed to sell without a prescription, but it not being available with a prescription...so it goes round and round.

Anyway, I get mine via Vitalady.  I can get a good supply with shipping being just $13.  Everything else I buy here, Calcium, Zinc, multi's, potassium and iron are what else I take.  Potassium I take only because my potassium is low without it.  I don't take E or K because I don't know what my levels are, I don't want to take them without knowing what my levels are and they are self pay in Ontario.  Though I've heard rumours if you get them drawn in a hospital lab that might not be the case - so I'm going to try that.  My doc said that a specialist may be able to order them and have it paid for - so if my just getting them drawn in the hospital doesn't work I'm going to see if the hematologist I'm going to see will be willing to order them.  Ok tangent done...LOL.

Anyway, many other Ontarians have tired in vain to get the dry forms of A&D in Canada in the doses we need with no luck.  Good luck!

I had been wondering as well about the vitamins, thanks for the info.

Now (and I'm sorry for the highjack), do you have an idea, roughly, how much the E and K blood tests would cost out of pocket?

Thank you in advance.

Approved for DS in Ontario! Waiting for a date!

I don't know how mucht he self pay is for all the tests but the one time I was asked to pay it was approximately $50 for one test. There are a handful of tests that are suggested that aren't covered so it would add up pretty quickly.

Carljin - my GP wondered the same thing but said if a specialist ordered them at the hospital they might be covered. I will be going to see a hematologist over the summer so I was going to ask her if she would be willing to order the tests to get them covered. Crossing my fingers!\
