What was I thinking?! This is my life. Rethinking DOCTORS.
I was wanting someone local, someone who has a long after care program, in which his is a year package included with surgery.
I called his office, which I have done 5 times in this past week to ask questions. First off, how often do I have to do labs, nurse said yearly. Bone density tests, only when needed. Vitamins, he preferred you ordered through him, or online. Labs are between 500/600 since I am elf pay. Bone density test, who knows... also I asked his financial lady how many has he done, she said round about 30. Which I thought I was ok with, til now. 30, isnt a whole lot to really see what is out there and be aware of different bodies, different scare tissue, and since I am a revision, I need to be extra careful.
So back to Trevor, he reallly made me understand that choosing a skilled surgeon is basically a life or death situation. It could mean the difference of what to do and how to do it if something negative were to happen during surgery. and with Dr.Stewart having done more than 1000, I am sure he has come across almost everything at least once, maybe twice. So now I am rethinking everything I thought I had planned.
Now for $...
Revision from lapband to DS is $25,000 whi*****ludes surgery, anesthesia, 3 month lab, etc. Plus additional $1470 for the scope thingy to make sure stomach is ok for surgery. Plus... travel expenses.
Like I have mentioned before, I have no support system here and all my family lives south, so no one to go with me. I would need someone to drive me back. Trevor said I could go in for consultation beginning of June, on a Thursday, have the scope thing done on Friday, then initial support meeting on Tuesday, and surgery the following day. So I could make a week out of it and go for it. Just wanted my husband there, but someone needs to run the business. So I am hoping to get some feedback from Dr.Stewarts patients, and maybe someone local in Denton to talk to. Maybe even a local Austinite who was "done" by Dr.Stewart.
Any feedback is well appreciated. I just thought I had it all planned out, now im all confused again, and im sure not gonna get any sleep this week again!
Thanks for reading.
