OK, I had my RNY to DS revision surgery 12/29/11.  I started at 263.  I am 40 years old.  I weighed 210 on 3/18/12.............. and I have not dropped a pound SINCE!!!!!!!!!!  I understand stalls, and your body adjusting, but I am now "playing" between 211 and 218.  I have had some NSV's, like dropping another pants size, but is there anything I can do to get the scale moving down again????  I am Vitalady's vitamin regemin.  I drink at least 2 protein coffee's daily.  I would love some inspiration and insight, please!!!  ~~~  I know, I know, Throw the scale OUT the window!!!!!!

I know and understand your frustration, Jamie. Remember, us revisioners lose more slowly. All things considered, you've done really well, though.

How much protein are you getting? carbs? You might consider posting for Gina (majormom) to take a look at.

Thank you, Gail.  I do understand that revisioners do lose more slowly, but just wish I was at goal already!!!!  HA!!!!  Don't we all??!!??

I am definately keeping carbs under 50 a day.  I agree with posting for Gina, she will definately keep me in line, being military and all!!!!

Your diet is the answer.  You may be on too few carbs or too many.  Too little protein or from sources you aren't absorbing.  It may take some trial and error but a shake up is in order for sure.

I would get full labs and start posting on bites and vites if I were in your shoes.

Hugs,

~Becky

Ah, a fine line with the carb monster, that puts an interesting spin on things!!!!!  I am due for my 6 month labs in another month.

I agree with posting on the bites & vites thread wholeheartedly!!!

Thank you, Becky for chiming in!!!!!

Jamie,
I saw on FB you have a hernia. Me too!!!! Mine is huge. I look like I'm about 5-6 months pregnant. I'm getting mine fixed with a tummy tuck in July.

Yes, my incision got infected the same week my leak was detected and I was put back onto NPO until I flew back to California from Alaska.  Since my wound had to be packed, that doubled or tripled my chances for a hernia due to the wound packing, and it is a HUGE, HUGE upper abdominal hernia, under my boobs, at the top of my incision, the size of a babys head (NO JOKE!!!).  I will be having the repair in August.  I will also be calling this week to the local plastic surgeon to see if she can "tag-team" my hernia surgery and do some tightning on my abdomen at the same time.

I feel like I am pregnant too!!!!!!!!!!  But the "baby" is too high up!!!  HA HA!!!

July is not too far away, that is AWESOME, Gail!!!!!

I know how you are feeling but the only advice I can give is.... eat more protien or add another shake to what you are doing currently. I have really been watching it and the weight is falling off again.

Sophia,

Thanks for the advice!!!!  I understand that revisions loose slower, ~Since this is essentially our second go-around~ but we are just a little different than virgin DS surgeries because of this (my thoughts, anyways).  So, I am SUPER GLAD that revisioners are chiming in with their experiences as well, so I can get all the feedback possible!!!!  Adding another shake sure could not hurt anything, and THANKFULLY, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the protein coffee's, and think of it as a reward/treat!!!!

YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How much have you lost since your revision???  (In the last 18 months)??

 Jamie,
Sorry you are frustrated. Shaking it up a bit always seems to work here. I assume you are also getting in at least 64 plus ounces of water a day?  I has a stall once that was just shy of 3 months and BOOM, I dropped again. Be patient, keep on track, it will happen.
