  Hello all,

I had my surgery December 12th and im down 41 pounds since then.
Is that really that bad? I know im losing slow but.
anyway I have a cold or something so i went to my PCP and he said: (Well you had one heck of a surgery not to have lost more weight by now).    I feel bad. poo

I have changed though considerable in looks , in fact one lady hasnt saw me since before sugery and i saw her Monday , she had to ask if it was me.
has anyone else had this strange slow weight loss with more inches gone and if so does the weight ever catch up?

Thanks

How much do you need to lose? I guess it's a percentage thing. Are you staying low carb and high protein...getting your fluids in and following a good vitamin plan?

My loss was -21 the first month, -10 months 2 and 3, -8 month 4...

Hang tough!

Ok, you're a lightweight like me and you're right on target. We don't have as much to lose so it may seem slow but it really is a % thing. With a DS you aren't getting too much protein, especially this early out. Low carb, high protein...repeat it. Let me hear you. :)

120 grams in protein is not too much. You're only getting about half of that.

It took me 5-6 months to get to normal BMI (24.9) and then another 5 to get to my low goal... right in the middle of normal range BMI (21.something). The last 5 months were very slow so be patient during that phase. I stopped losing at 11 months post-op.

why did you stop so early?
Because you were at ur goal?  so the body stops when its ready? huh?

Yep, I was at goal. It was just right, not so early. :) 100% EWL. I had lost all my excess weight. Yep, your body stops when it's lost all it needs to lose. You may go a little lower than you feeel comfortable with at first but the little natural bounce back will bring you up to a comfortable weight. 115 was a touch too low and I've settled at 120 or so pounds.

I have the standard 100cm common channel my surgeon gives everyone.
