Hello,

I just wanted to let folks know I have decided to go ahead with my DS surgery. I had posted a week or two ago about my fears of surgery. I have had RNY twice so this revision will be my third WLS. I had my preop appointments yesterday and was able to spend some time with Dr. Rabkin. He answered all my questions and quieted my fears somewhat. He has dealt with a lot of patients with multiple previous surgeries so I am not so "special" to him.

I wanted to thank folks for their kind words of support to my previous post.

Hopefully I will be checking in within 10 days or so and let you know all was well.

Thanks again, Terri

I feel you have made the best possible decision on a surgeon for this revision. Dr. Rabkin is a miracle worker. Go into surgery with the assurance that you will do great and that this is the first step towards a healthy new life. All the best to you!

Great decision! You've chosen a very experienced revision surgeon, and the best possible operation for future longterm success as well.
And with your date so soon, you don't have much time to freak out about it. Excellent!
Best wishes to you for a safe and successful surgery, and remember, when you feel up to it, there are support groups in SF and SJ where you would meet some great people and find information and encouragement that will help you along the way.

Congrats Terri.
Here is the best and you've made two great decisions ... one to get a DS and two to have him perform it.  Hoping everything is smooth sailing for you.  Wishing you a speedy and uneventful recovery.

Walk as soon as you can and remember to sip, sip, sip.  Good luck!
