3 year update - upcoming internal hernia repair AND QUESTION
Hey J! Mine is...? I have no idea. The pain was just below my xiphoid and at one point wrapped around to my back. He says there is most likely a mesentery defect near where he did the anastamosis because there is where he sewed everything up...but of course I was 100+ pounds heavier at the time, so it was sewn together with the fat pad in place. Now that the fat pad is gone, it allows the intestines to slip in and out of the defect. I'm only in pain when the intestines slip through the defect and twist. So, right now I am fine. I'm assuming the intestines are not incarcerated. He didn't mention mesh...so hopefully that won't be necessary. I've called my ex husband to see if he could bring me and pick me up. Hopefully he'll say yes. If not, there is a shuttle bus that goes from here to Omaha. I'll give them a call if M can't bring me.
