Dr. Elariny & Insurance question!!!

Hello everyone!! I had RNY in 2005 and I have been considering getting a revision.  I have a consultation with Dr. Elariny scheduled to discuss a revision to a DS.  I wanted to know if anyone who had previously been a patient of Dr. Elariny could share their experience with me.  Also, I currently have Carefirst Blue Choice health insurance and I wanted to know if it would be better if I switched to the PPO plan since I heard that Dr. Elariny has opted to be out of network! Thanks in advance for any assistance that anyone can provide me with!!!

He does charge extra for the DS no matter what insurance you have. You might want to discuss your insurance options with Alex, his case manager. He is an excellent surgeon and will give you the pros and cons of a revision to DS or an ERNY. He also might mention putting a band around a sleeve for a revision. Definitely refuse that one. He does consider you the customer, and whatever you opt for, he will do. Just hold your ground and be firm.
