Gas pain/pressure, 1 small BM daily....
DS on 03/12/12
Hey Lisa,
I am so sorry you're having such problems. I worked in Radiology scheduling for over 10 years and have NEVER heard of them doing a CT scan w/food. Typically it's always done with some sort of contrast media (barium, gastro graffen or water). Typically, with WLS patients they do a gastro graffen contrast because it's thinner than that of barium and gives better images than that of water.
There are other studies that can be done lower GI's and stuff like that, those are typically ordered by GI physicians. I certainly hope that you find the answers that you need.

Thanks, Aundrea. I'm so frustrated. Called GHP again at 11am yesterday & never heard back. Not a surprise that I've had no bm today at all & now food is getting "stuck" going down. I have so much pressure & pain in my abdomen & back. I need to get the kids off to school & will call again. I just don't get it. WHY is this not raising any red flags w/them????
Time to go to the ER, Lisa. Obstructions can be life-threatening. Please keep us posted as you can.

I spoke too soon. Bm was still small but better than the past 2 days. I feel like a new woman(amazing how our lives can evolve around poo sometimes). Gina, after you mentioned probiotics, I started researching them more & feel that it could be truly be part of the issue. I've had a few surgeries/procedures in the past 6 months so have been on a lot of antibiotics & pain meds(before they started making me sick). On top of that, I had had a high carb week 3 + weeks ago just before this all started. My probiotics will be here today(I got 2 diff kinds) so I'm really hoping it does the trick. I have no doubt the hiatal hernia is causing issues, as I just had 1 repaired a few months ago(& it was so tight afterwards Foote had to stretch it out). I will def keep you posted!
Ok, I trust your judgment. :) I hope things get better.
