Vitamins- prescription coverage?

 Have any of you had insurance cover any of the vitamins if script written by doctor?

yes, depending on what they are....
my iron is RX
my K is RX
my Vit D is RX (compounded IM)
my Vit K is RX (subq)

everyday vitamins are not covered by insurance, but you can get them off on your healthcare spending account if you have your letter of medical necessity written properly from your dr., that is what i do for all my other vitamins

The only vitamin I have ever had covered by my insurance was Vit D, but it was gel capsules, so not the correct kind for us. I took like 3 before I read that I had to buy the powder capsule form. Those I had to buy out of pocket via Vitalady.

 No, my insurance won't cover them. However, I do get prescriptions for them from my doctor, keep track of all my receipts, and deduct them come tax time.

My flexible spending account covers them with a letter of medical necessity form my surgeon.  It's great to get that money back!
