Has anyone had any experience with this doctor? I can't remember how I came across his name but I can't find him here or at the dsfacts websites. Perhaps someone can recommend someone different from Mt. Sinai!

Thank you!

I havne't heard many positives about him for a revision. If you're in PA, why not see Dr. Greenbaum in Burlington? I've talked with a few of his revision patients and I'm having a consult with him. So far so good.

I like him very much.  He has beeing doing the DS for a long time - at least 12 years.  He is very conservative about who he will perform the DS on,  however.

Have you looked into Dr Elariny or Dr Pomp or Dr. Roslin?

Are you self-pay?

I am a self pay, at least I think I am. I have new AmeriHealth Mercy Medicaid and not sure if they will cover any of the surgery.  Why do you say he's conservative about who he does surgery one? Is it the BMI?

I am looking into Dr. Roslin. Do you know where the other two doctors are located?

I strongly recommend Dr. Alfons Pomp.  Amazing man, he works out of Cornell - great staff, hospital is beautiful.

But, I think you should include the warning that Dr. Pomp has a very high rate of making the DS be done in two separate surgeries (especially on revisions, but even for virgin DSes too), so double the costs, recovery times, time off of work, etc.

Dr Huron is one of the great wls surgeons, he was one of the first in NYC when it all began partnering with Doctors Gagner,Pomp, Bessler, and others, before they headed up there own dynasty He was on my list of doctors to see but never got around to him, but i did see all the others mentioned.

dr herron is a great surgeon but I believe he is an RNY surgeon - I almost used him before I found Dr Bessler who also only performs RNY and lap bands.

I believe Dr Roslin is in NYC and is an excellent DS surgeon - go to DS facts and check out NY or NJ surgeons - I know Dr Greenbaums is a great DS surgeon as well

Herron has been doing the DS for at least 12 years.  He is just very cautious about whom he performs them on.  And I think he's right to be very cautious about it.  The DS requires a lifetime of commitment and compliance AND THE ABILITY TO DO SO...financially,  psychologically,  mentally...there are plenty of people who SHOULD NOT HAVE THE DS.

In fact we see those people here on this board every day.

He was on the original team - Gagner et al - when I had my DS 12 years ago.
