I had RNY in 2005 and I lost around 200 lbs.   In 2009 I was diagnosed with anemia.  Everything we tried didn't work and I am now receiving iron infusions.

They tell me I do not absorb my vitamins or iron.  So I'm B12, B1, D and iron deficient.

I have neuropathy, bulging disc and spondylolisthesis.  It has been recommended I seek opinions on redoing my RNY.

Educate me about the DS please

A great place to start some research is www.dsfacts.com .  Also, you might be interested in following Vitalady's vitamin plan to bring your labs up. It could be you aren't taking enough of the right things.  Link to DS and RNY plans:

I understand about the back. I had same and surgery done on S1 and L5 while I was still on active duty. That was another reason I looked at the DS so hard.

A good way to start your education is with this.

You can educate yourself by reading everything on dsfacts.com and then you can ask specific questions.  That would probably be more beneficial to you.

A good place to start is Vitalady.com You really need to get your labs in order before you have a revision (that is just my opinion).

But my labs were great when I had my plastics....and my doctor said I healed better then her "normal" patients.
