Something Isn't Right With My DS

I am not hiding one darn thing! Now what good would it do me if I were to name my surgeon and turn prospective clients against him if my situation would hopefully work itself out down the road and it wasn't due to anything he had or hadn't done?! I am NOT wanting to hurt this man! HOW do you call that hiding?!! I know the size he says he does his patients cc and so on and his name would not help any of you answer my questions. Not knowing his name is NOT leaving the helpers shackled. What a pathetic thing to say! Nothing would because you aren't wanting to help someone who is new here!
My surgeon and his staff said OH was a good place to go for help and advice, many of you have been very kind and answered with helpful replies, but a few of you are down right mean trying to scare a newbie off! What kind of sick game are YOU playing?! I would think the board wouldn't approve of your behavior towards a new DS'er asking for help! I cannot understand your mindset!
I'm almost sorry I even came here and asked a couple of simple and easy to answer questions! I just wanted to know who may have went through what I am. If you haven't been through it then why even bother to comment? I am just shocked at how some of you are! Unbelievable!!! Thanks for the warm welcome, OH!

I find your post is missing a lot of information that would actually get you better, more inmformed answers.
Bowel movements, constipation are pretty normal issues early post-op, takes awhile to work themselves out.
As for being able to eat more - what exactly are you eating? This early you should be on liquids and soft, nothing solid/dense like meats yet. With food, it's not the measurement - cup, ounces, etc, as much as it is type - the more dense the food, the less you can eat of it. The less dense, you can eat more. For example, you might be able to eat a half-cup of cottage cheese, but only 1 oz of chicken. Are you focusing on protein only first? You shouldn't be consuming much carb right now, even the good complex ones, because your stomach real estate is pretty small, protein MUST come first.
Saying which surgeon you have isn't calling him out; other people who have had the same surgeon can share their experiences/perspective. The DS community is particularly savvy, so you're actually doing a disservice to yourself and others who are trying to learn, just saying.
I had lots of bowel movements but as you can see that others didn't in the beginning. It doesn't hurt to talk to someone at your surgeon's office about this.
My number one advice is no matter what your DS looks like today, it is bound to change. I went thru so many phases I can't even tell you. I had periods of time where I couldn't drink anything but hot liquids, another phase of not being able to eat the same food twice in a month, another phase where I was ****ting all night long, I had a bacon and chicken hating phase, couldn't have water touch my front teeth phase. Most of these were in the first 3 months. After that is started to level off. I have none of these now. NONE! You are so early out now that you are going thru a major transition. Relax and focus on what you need to do today or this hour to care for yourself. Don't think about tomorrow. Easier said than done but you will be ok.
Cheers,
Cathy
Are you drinking enough water? Have you tried an enema to relieve the constipation? Are you on pain meds? Those can cause severe constipation.
You're only two weeks out from MAJOR surgery. Not sure why you don't want to share your surgeon's name. If your surgeon is the top DS surgeons in the country, why do you feel you will have an uphill battle proving there's a problem, if there is a problem?

My reason for wanting to join this conversation, was to coment about the Dr. I would not reccomend him to anyone. The reason being, I felt I was abandoned, or neglected whatever you want to call it. The surgery is working slowly but surely. My starting weight was 331lbs, and I now weight 184lbs. I still have a way to go, but like I said it is very slow. My daughter lost hers fast, she reached he goal in less than 2 years. Maybe age had somethig to do with it. She's 30 and I'm 56. Well, if anyone has a remedy for my gas problem, I would love to hear it. Thank you for your time.
