I basically agree with what everyone has said.  But I wanted to add that I never take any mag oxide.  It would give me D.  Also I take a probiotic 3 times a day.  Start out gradually and build up.

Hi, I had Dr. K too :-) Revised to the DS on Dec 15 and he is a rockstar! Have you read the materials in your packet, it really helps. Did you also have your gallbladder removed? Just wanted to say 'hey'; the early weeks of post-op recovery are the hardest, and the bowels take the longest to 'wake up' and start functioning again. You will continue to experience some adjustments as you add foods. As you start to eat more solid, your BMs will follow. All the supplements we take can be hard on our new digestive system too. There's also trial/error as you figure out what does and doesn't agree with you. I had to stop my half-cup of coffee because the caffeine caused me pain; other have no trouble at all, etc. Hang in there, this isn't necessarily fun :-) But  part of recovery. Very important to stay hydrated. You can PM me any time, and I also recommend joining the other board too, where there are many DS vets. I'm using my recovery time to read, read, read and it's been invaluable.

Just wanted to also add: make sure youre not using any sugar alcohol products like sucking on hard sugar free candies or artificial sweeteners since this can cause runny stools even without WLS.....ask me how I know :(
