Have I broken my DS?

I had my DS about 10 months ago. At first, I was very limited in the amount that I could eat before feeling full. That has increased tremendously. On some occasions, it is like before and I eat very little, but a lot of times I'm hungry all the time and I can eat a substantial amout of food. Have I broken my DS? I dont want to regain and I'm worried. Has this happened to anyone else? Also my weight loss has plateaued. Ive been the same give or take a couple of pounds since Dec.

What are you eating?

We all have big tummy days and small tummy days, this is perfectly normal.  A plateau is also normal but if you could provide the following information we'll be able to direct you a bit better:

What was your starting weight?  What is your current weight?

What are you eating?
Are you getting in protein first and foremost at every meal?  Are you getting at least 100g of protein a day?
What is your simple carb intake like (Pastas, breads, fruits, sweets)?
How is your complex carb intake (veggies)?  Your carb intake total should be less than 75g with the bulk of those being complex.

How's your hydration?  Are you still getting at least 64 oz a day?

A broken DS, especially at 10 months out, is a rarity.  Take a step back, relax.  Let's look at what you are doing and see what may or may not need to be done.  It may just be that your body is taking a break from losing.  It may be that you've fallen into a bad habit or two.  Don't panic.

I think we all go through that scary feeling when we realize that we no longer eat as much as a small toddler; however, before I advise any further, 1)  Who is your surgeon? and 2)  What are you eating?

Thanks for responding. I'll try my best to answer all the questions. I'm eating poorly. Most times, I get approxmately 60-80 grams of protein daily. About 30% of thetime I exceed 100G. My fluid intake is 48-64 oz. I started at 308 and I am now at 210. Because I am eating so much now, I eat everything, especially cereal and Doritos. One of my main concerns is the sheer amount I can eat now. I'm concerned. Did I stretch out my stomach? I've been going through a lot of stress with my relationship and school. I hope it passes.  As I write this, I see the mistakes I've been making. Can anyone give any advise to overcome this? Thanks.

You are doing the one thing that CAN break your DS or any WLS for that matter. Excessive carb intake can slow/stop your weightloss. Eating so little protein can threaten your life.

It is not how much you eat that is important. It is WHAT you eat.

Eat as much protein and fat as you need to not be hungry. All day long.

Throw out the Doritos and cereal and don't buy them again. DOUBLE the amount of protein you are eating and don't eat more than 100 grams of carbs per day. 75-50, if that is too many for continued weight loss.

You are in that sweet DS honeymoon phase. Losing weight will never be easier for you than it is now. Don't blow this opportunity. And don't risk illness/death by not eating enough protein.
