Amanda,  Unfortunately because of stress of unemployment, and relationship problems I eat so much I have not reached my goal.   As of last month, I have reached my 18 month period.  They say, after that the weight is hard to lose.  I would love to lose 10-20 pounds more.  Not sure how I can accomplished that goal at this point. 192 and now I'am 175, before the holiday, I was 172.
It is not how MUCH you are eating it is WHAT you are eating.

Cut out carbs, up your fluids and up your protein and I think you will be surprised.

I lost 35 # in year 3, not by dieting, it just came off.

3# could be water weight, not actual weight.

You can do this!

Thank you, knowing you was in your third year and you lost 35 pounds is very encouraging.  I'm glad it’s a new week, so far this morning I have not craved carbs. I’m putting my best efforts forward.   I snacked on some salami and had some decaf coffee with splenda and I'm actually just fine.  Today I'm going grocery shopping for the week.  I usually do well with chicken, so that will definitely be on my list, and I need to get creative with the protein snacks.  I'm purchasing cheese for sure.   Let me know if you have some more creative ideas.  I’m thinking about posting a new topic for protein suggestions.

Watch out for the carbs in protein bars.  I hate them all. :)

Lets see:

Cheese

Jerky

make yummy fat-filled dips and use pork rinds with it.

Cheese crisps (make in microwave, use like chips)

Pepperoni chips. (make in microwave, use like chips)

Nuts

We have an entire recipe section over at the new site.

Yep I need to eat every couple of hours or I start to gnaw on a chair leg (which just makes everyone uncomfortable).  I'm finding it a little hard to deal with because before the DS I could go 8 hours and not feel hungry.  Just an adjustment I have to make.  I now keep my work draw full of small munchy (usually) protein snacks.  BTW if you have too many carbs they will make you more hungry.

Thanks you just reminded me to get some protein bars....I'm trying to stop that eagerness to eat.

just like most folks posting, i graze all day long.  absolutely love that i no longer have to feel guilty about snacking.
co-workers laugh at my snack drawer.  there is peanuts, cashews, pistachios, string cheese, cans of deviled ham, gluten free crackers, beef jerky, a few mini candy bars (i usually have one after lunch) a tub of protein powder, bags of microwave popcorn.  and my snacks in the frige, well that's another list of goodies and treats i keep on hand.

You have done outstanding with your weight loss.  I think I have been eating so much, therefore, I have not lost all my weight.   I actually have 10-20 pounds to go.  I know that is a lot.

It has nothing at all to do with how much you eat. (loosing weight I mean).

It is only about WHAT you eat.

You can eat all the protein and fat you want and you will lose weight.  I think eating often keeps your metabolism going and helps the weight loss.

If you are eating carbs that is why you aren't losing.

Substitute the carbs for more protein and fat and you can lose the rest you need to lose.

I ate so freqently for the first couple of years that I never left the house without two packs of food:  one cold and one not-cold.  And of course my water.

Now that I am 2 1/2 years out I am finding that I have to eat less often and I can leave home without food.  I still eat frequently, but not every 2 hours like I did for the first 2 years.
