playing the waiting game

picked a doctor, Dr Rapkin, well as long as my insurance will cover the surgery, still waiting on pre-approval - hum drum, hum drum, im the most inpatiant person in the whole world, lol!!!!

i didn't think Dr. Rabkin takes insurance.  Last I knew he required up front payment and you can then try to get insurance to pay you back.  That is why he wasn't my surgeon.  My insurance paid no problem.  in fact my paperwork was supmitted on Friday and on Monday I was approved.  Had BCBS.

i have BCBS but im haviing a resivion. also they must take insurance because they have a specialist that just deals with insurance , will tell me by the end of the week

LOL yep i believed that story once too.  Sure they have someone, Matt I think is his name.  Get your cash or visit another doctor.  Unless you have Kaiser.

I'm becoming impatient too. I'm hoping to know if I'm approved by mid-February cause I still have a few tests to run.

I was whining at my WLS support group meeting that I've had to wait 6months to even get the ball rolling as my insurance requires a 6 month medically supervised diet to even consider whether or not they want to approve you, when another woman at the meeting said her insurance makes you wait a YEAR.  I'm still impatient, but I stopped whining about my 6 months. lol

 You are getting incorrect advice, which is why you want to read your PM's, and other information that is in front of your eyes.

Rabkin is only one of two surgeons in CA to consider for a revision, and the advice being given to you about the financial arrangements is incorrect.
