Does the DS interfere with how I absorb Augmentin?

At Thanksgiving, I had what was supposed to be a minor procedure on the inside of my knees to make walking a little more stable.  (liposuction)   I was supposed to be off work for Thanksgiving break and maybe a few more days.  Instead I've been off most of the time since.

I am currently taking Augmentin for a bacterial infection that developed.  The infection is receding, but it suddenly occured to me tonight that the DS may be interfering in how that is absorbed.

Of course it's Friday night;  doctor's offices are closed.

I have taken it with no problem and it did what it was supposed to do.  The pills they gave me were huge (bigger than my calcium!) so I split them.

I believe that Augmentin is one of the stronger antibiotics.  I was on a 10 day course about 6 weeks ago for a sinus infection and it worked for me.  The bonus was that I have had very little gas since then!

I hope you get better quickly.

Cheers,
Cathy
