do you measure your food?
Me neither...just really really dislike them...but I do eat Atkins protein bars (about one a day). I don't each as much protein as I should normally (although this last week I have cuz I went back to the basics). If you're filling up on carbs, there is little room left for protein.
So, like a poster above said...first protein then complex carbs then whatever...in that order.
I may try to slip a shake in once a day (found a low carb chocolate one that I liked at Sam's a year or so agao)...but we'll see. They're expensive and I truly enjoy chewing my protein instead of sipping it.
