Tell the 11 people they can take care of themselves and focus on you. I don't know why you aren't in a hospital...

Hmgaley71, please allow someone to take over and get yourself some rest.  There's only one YOU and you need some healing time.  Call the troops together and tell them what they are in charge of.  Please take care of yourself and let them do the same.

You Have TO REST. You need to take care of YOU right now.

Please take care of yourself. This sounds very dangerous. I hope the doctor has you on strong antibiotics and you are drinking way more fluids than normal.

When I was in my early twenties, a dear friend's mother died the day after Christmas. She'd had a cold and was feeling very poorly, but being the matriarch of a large Italian family, said nothing about it because she didn't want to "ruin everyone's Christmas."

When they finally convinced her to go to the ER the next day, she walked in under her own power. However, the pneumonia had been allowed to linger too long and neither she nor the doctors in ICU could stop it. I don't know how old she was, but I met her parents at the funeral.

So she ended up ruining Christmas for her family for a VERY, VERY long time.

Please don't let this happen to you.

II think you should go to the ER asap.  Even if you spend Christmas there, let the visitors take care of themselves, while the doctors and nurses take care of you.  You will feel a lot better once you have some rest and medical attention, and then you can get ready for New Year, and will have other Christmas to celebrate.  Take care.

I am so sorry to hear about your illness.

I have just gotten out of the hospital and am still receiving intravenous antibiotics and TPN fluids for nutrition.  Nothing by mouth.  While I hate this, I will allow the others here to enjoy the holiday foods and such while I have nothing BECAUSE I need to do what the doctor says so I will recover and be able to enjoy holidays to come.

Out of the 11 people there, surely one of them cares enough about you to insist you do the thing that is best for your health.

Take Care.

I had pneumonia a year & a half ago and learned many people dont take it seriously and it can be fatal if  you don't get help & rest. You do need to go to the ER and you can't be responsible for others right now. Now GO!

My mother wasn't feeling well the weekend of Memorial Day.  She was supposed to bring a dish to her sisters house for a party.  The sister is very critical and wouldn't have been kind if my mother had not come.  My mom figured she could get medical care after the party was over.

Well, my mother was so sick she ended up in the hospital on life support for 3 months and dead 2 months after that.  She started with pnuemonia.  You think things are a mess for those 11 people now?  Hopefully you don't have to find out how messy things can really get!  You would be surprised at how insignificant the things you are worrying about really are compared to your health.
