It's now OFFICIAL~Approved~!!!!! RNY to DS

The saying is 'God only gives you what you can handle.'  WOW, that is a statement!!!!  I started my journey out in 2009, and it is nearly 2012.

I want to THANK Diana Cox & Larra for their awsome help & positivity to get me through the insurance appeals, denials, hearing & approval at LAST.  Believe me, I had many times of self-doubt "Can I do this?", "Is this meant to happen?"

Also, a BIG HUG to all of you on this board for keeping my spirits up when I just wnated to walk away & stick my head in the sand.  Maybe now, I can stop "exsisting" and actaully LIVE!!!!!!

Last month, my job of 6 years tells me: "Your position does not have enough work, so your hours will be reduced from 40 hours a week to 20 hours a week starting January 1st."  That is 25% of me and my husband's income.  Since I am in the union, I do have some seniority, so I am looking at trying to go to a different department, to keep my 40 hours a week and benefits.  But, at this point, since my benefits will end in a few weeks, Dr. Keshishian's office has been WONDERFUL in working with me and is trying to get me scheduled the last week of December.

So, my head is reeling right now!!!!!
-Jamie

p.s.  If you are struggling with insurance woes right now..... DO. NOT. GIVE. UP!!!!!  Keep Fighting!!!!

I am so happy for you. I generally lurk on this board but i have witnessed your persistence and your optimism.  I am inspired by your tenacity.  I am in the process of obtaining insurance approval for my RNY to DS revision with Dr, Keshishian.  I started with Dr Greenbaum but hit a snag so I am moving on.  I hope I am as fortunate as you are.  I cannot wait to read your success story.  Keep smiling you are on your way at last!

I am thrilled for you!! I went through years of research and struggles to get the right surgery. I know the elation of finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. You are now on the road to good health and a better life. Congratulations for sticking with it and finally getting the DS. I hope your future also holds a full time job! Good luck to you.
