Hi everyone -

Construction has totall disrupted my internet access for I don't know how many days now - they are adding in private bathrooms here, and are re-wiring everything. The internet kept coming on for 30 seconds, then off for a minute, etc. Talk about frustrating! Open a webpage, and then before you can click on a link, it is GONE!

It seems to be OK, so far so good, tonight.

But I digress... I have been barely able to follow the board for a while, but I plan to catch up tonight. I have my pre-op class tomorrow in Salt Lake City. My surgery will be on Wednesday. I'm still not exactly nervous, but I am getting a bit tense. I think I'd have to be crazy to take this major surgery lightly; but since there's no chance of me wavering in my decision to go ahead, I am feeling the tension a bit. I imagine it will get worse by Wednesday.

Enough about me... on to reading what all of you have been writing about for the last week or so!

Thanks, Elizabeth,

Those words really helped. I didn't see them till today. Yesterday I was too frazzled, after going to SLC for the class and to pre-register at the hospital, to get online and focus on the board.

I will try the deep breathing. I am new enough around here not to have heard about the balloon exercise. I don't have access to any, but I can breathe that deeply to help my anxiety go down and to prepare my lungs.

Thanks for the great advice, and for noticing my absence!
