Ya know, I thought you were all lyin.
Let me just tell you that you are doing so great because you can EAT. You had the sleeve part done a while ago so you're not suffering the usual 'I can't eat that crap' phase the rest of us are going through. So jealous...

Actually I feel okay; I just can't eat anything these days without feeling like I want to toss it back up. I know this will pass. When? When do you think it will pass?

I think it's pretty normal. Food tastes awful at this stage (I believe this is hormonal still) and no matter what I eat, it becomes unappealing fast. I haven't tossed anything back up yet (small miracle there) but I am not enjoying eating. Smells make me instantly nauseous but I find if I eat a small piece of crystallized ginger, the upset stomach and nausea go away instantly. My stomach itself doesn't hurt; it's just when I eat something that doesn't taste like it should, I get a little queasy. I can actually tolerate a lot of different foods, the first time around. If I try to eat it again, ewwww, I don't want it. Talk about becoming a picky eater. Sweets make me nauseous and I crave meat. However, unless it is turkey bacon or shredded meat, it does not sit well. And protein drinks - who invented this crap? They taste so bad to me now that I can't do them anymore.

I felt like crap and couldn't/didn't want to eat very much my first couple months...thankfully I started this journey with a really high protein level so it didnt show up much on my labs...cuz I KNOW I wasn't getting enough those first few months...but I promise it does get better..I know it sucks...I had a bit of buyers remorse for a minute but after about the 4th month I started feeling alot better and now at 10 months I feel like I eat WAYYYYY TOOOO MUCH..lol But I can eat any and everything I want without any trouble...so it worked out well Keep your head up!!
Yeah, this is pretty much what I expected. I keep remembering what the vets say (because they get pissed if you don't) and I wait (eagerly...) for the day it gets (much) better. I am craving meat so that's a good thing. I know a lot of people start craving carbs but that just isn't happening to me. I am concerned about my low protein intake though. I have been adding half a scoop of unflavored protein powder to my yogurt but I still taste it and it makes the yogurt unpleasant. And the label says 'virtually tasteless.' The taste tester must have worn out taste buds. I mixed half a scoop with 8oz of plain Greek yogurt and if that can't kill the taste, nothing can.

Wonderful stuff. Settles my upset stomach instantly. It works really well for nausea. This is the brand I use because of its quality and because it is organic:

It's pretty cheap on this site. It's about double that at Whole foods. The squares are roughly 1/2 sq inch and one is all I need.
