"Why" is caffeine a no-no early out:?

psst...if you edit your original post, it will let you edit the thread title as well :) I was quite confused when I read the topic!
My doctor never cared about coffee, and never said I couldn't have any.
I was served coffee in the hospital post-op and did fine with it.
The jury is also out on whether or not caffeine's diuretic powers are as great as they are fabled to be. The perception may have come from a miscalculation bias regarding hydration.

I'd say drink decaf in moderate amounts until you know you're getting enough grams/oz of hydration with water and other non-carbonated, non-sweetened, non-caffeinated drinks alone (that pretty much leaves Crystal Lite-type stuff).
