Bullying and Newbies

For those who haven't figured this out yet:  When you think someone on here is being bullied, before you jump to a conclusion on your own, click the "recent posts" button below the victims name and icon.  Read everything they've posted and familiarize yourself with this person.  This well give you some background on their behavior and their new-ness to this board.

And before you jump down someone's throat for yelling (typing in all capital letters, using profanity, etc.) at a newbie, read their most recent posts, too.  They have seen people suffer needlessly because they were too stubborn or too stupid to take the good advice offered here.

Like everything else in life, don't rush into judgment until you know all the facts.  The vets on here really do have your best interests at heart.  Sometimes they HAVE to type in all capital letters (yell) and use profanity to get someone's attention.

Disagree. There is never a need for such profanity. Furthermore, there are only a small number of people who act this way. If you are going to be in this site daily, for years at a time, then you will see repeated questions over and over. And it is a pain in the butt to try and figure out how this site works.   Vet or newbie, this is a site for all of us, and newbies outnumber the vets since this surgery is gaining in popularity. If you are a vet, I appreciate your helpfulness.  If your goal is truly to help others, you can and should do it in a way that is not so distespectful.

OOps, deleted my post accidentally.

This is the beautiful thing about America:  the Freedom of Speech.  We can all add our two cents, agree to disagree, and we all learn something.

Just wanted everyone new to know how to read the back posts of someone who is having a hard time.  It helps when giving someone advice to see if they are in the habit of FOLLOWing the offered advice in the past, or IGNORING it.  This particular girl shot down EVERY single piece of well meaning advice offered.  Because that's not what she wanted.  She just wanted the attention.

Besides, sometimes I like dirty words......

Haha. Yeah, I use dirty words on ocassion too. I'm no saint!  But I would never use them against others, though 'never' might be too all-inclusive!  Freedom of speech is wonderful, but in my book, respect for others trumps all. If you are angry and feel the need for all caps, profanity, etc, like we all do from time to time, then I would suggest not posting and let someone else answer. Most of the time, responding to anything when you are that emotional is not a good idea. Been there, done that, and hope not to do it again!

Just so y'all know, there's a "Virgin Eyes" setting in your profile so that all bad words are mixed up so you don't wind up corrupted like the rest of us.
