OT: My Darn Ticker and Avatar!!!

I know this issue has been covered ad nauseum, but I am finding it SO frustrating that I cannot seem to update my weight ticker.  I have done everything I have ever read about doing and that darn ticker still won't update.  I changed it last week and it still is showing the wrong number.  Then, today, I uploaded a new Avatar and IT'S not showing, either.

I don't know if you can help, but maybe I just want some sympathy!!!

Press "F5" on your keyboard, sweets. It's not OH, it's your browser caching the old information. We can see your new stuff.

Out of curiosity, what does F5 do... sorry.. I'm kinda nosy :P

 I'd love to know that answer here too.  And is it the same for MAC?

See my other reply. For Safari it's command + R instead of F5.

When your browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox or Chrome, etc)  visits a webpage, it "caches" or saves images in a temporary folder, so that when you visit the same page again, it loads faster (only have to display from your harddrive instead of waiting to re-download it from the server). Normally, this is a good thing. Unless that image changes and your browser doesn't know it needs to get a new one.

Pressing F5 on your keyboard tells your computer to go out to the server and refresh the information, repulling all images, etc.
