I hope things improve with your mom. You're doing well with your Bites. Thank goodness for protein shakes.

Hi Gina and everyone,
Sure has been a nice weekend except for football losses.

B: bacon, double protein shake
S: almonds
L: egg salad, CS fudge bar
S: cheese, salami
S: double protein shake
D: few bites of chicken and dumplings, peas (stopped because it didn't settle)
S: probably nothing

V: one batch to go but will have to see how the stomach does
F: on track
E: cleaned house, laundry

Gina, Dr. K called and we talked for quite a while. He said he was surprised because he thought I probably had a stricture, but the UGI didn't show anything. He says he thinks it's a vagus nerve injury/dysfunction. Nothing much to do for it at this point.

Does he think the vegus nerve will heal on its own? Wondering if an anti nausea patch would be helpful?

He feels, based on his experience, that it will get better over time. The patch is an idea to try, although I don't get nauseated, just pain. I'm wondering if this is really something that started several years ago as a result of diabetes. I'm thinking of making an appointment with a gastroenterologist.

gail, i was hoping your results to be nothing serious, but something that could easily be fixed.  good for you to move forward and want to see a gastro doc.  keep us posted.
