Same questions being asked over and over again

Many questions on this site are asked over and over again. And some people lose patience with the same questions!  Here's my take after being on this forum for two months.

A lot of information gets posted daily. If you go a few days without checking the forum, you miss out on a lot of info!  The only way to see what you've missed is to start with the first page and work your way backwards. If you are not on here regularly, you are probably not going to look at the posts since the last time you were here.

The search option is horrible. If you search "stall" for example, you will get stall info from every type of surgery, not just Ds. I don't find this very useful.

Lastly, I have been trying to read posts from before I joined the site. Do you know how difficult it is to try and start reading page 50 of this forum?  They need to have a go to option for the page numbers!

There is my vent, because I know that I have reasked questions and will no doubt reask a question again!

How to Search This Site (Or any site)

1) Go to http://www.google.com and click the "Advanced Search" link
2) Enter the words or phrases for which you are searching, e.g., chewable vitamin
3) Decide which OH forum or forums you want to search. Go to the forum(s) and copy the URLs.
 For example:
 (Duodenal Switch Forum)  http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/DS/
 (LapBand Forum) http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/lapband/
 (RNY Forum)  http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/rny/
 (Ontario Forum) http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/ON/
4) Enter the URL(s) in the field labelled, "Search within site or domain".  Separate URLs by a comma.
5) Click the "Advanced Search" button.  You will only see results from the OH forum(s) you specify.

Tips:
To search the entire OH site (every forum), just enter http://www.obesityhelp.com as the URL

Want to see ALL posts by a person (as opposed to only the Latests posts within the current forum)?
Search for their username and their location (found below their avatar).  If you just specify their username, you will get their posts as well as all posts ABOUT them. (Some people are talked about more than they actually post!)

Yup, google is the best way to search for information on this forum. However, I never had a problem finding an answer because if I needed to read 50 posts to get that answer, then that's what I had to do.
Determination is required for sure.

Thanks so much for the google info. I think I will cut and paste it to a word document so I NEVER forget it!  I've read about dry skin, calcium issues, all kinds of issues but dont have the patience to go page by page to try and remember where it is!  This is a great time saver and will help me navigate this site. Thanks again!

Laugh O Loud!  Yes!  Gosh, I have been so frustrated trying to go back and read historical posts!  This is a huge time saver and I'm excited about EASILY going back and reading comments from long ago. It seems the issues haven't changed, but there were a lot of different people on here at the beginning of the year than now. I think that means after the DS, they started to live!  Haha. Thanks again!

I place some of the blame on OH and the lack of useful newbie stickies on the surgery threads. It would help, but oh no we can't have any of that here because it would make sense.

The only reason I come back here is because of the member base and not because of the site design or managment; the OH website as a whole sucks elephant testicles **** poor design, painfully slow speed, terrible UI, outdated "features", poor site organization, etc, etc. etc...
For great WLS info join me here weightlosssurgery.proboards.com and here www.dsfacts.com
