I am trying to "plan" as best I can...

I am older than most who have the DS and I was in for 4 days, lap and no problems.

 I was only in for 2 nights, it really wasn't so bad.  Once I got home and had all my tubes and stuff disconnected it was not hard for me to get around the amount I needed to... ie: refill water and go to the bathroom.  You're supposed to walk anyway so I would make myself get up.  My husband was able to focus on taking care of our daughter which was perfect, as she was very... well she and I are very close and she was worried, so she needed the distraction.  Hopefully your recovery is as easy as mine was!!!  I feel very lucky!
