I'll call them in the morning and talk to the doctor. It was the nurse that called me, not the doc. She seemed to think that 15 was fine since it falls into range. I'll push for an infusion. Can they give me that thru the IV once I'm in recovery? Can you get iron injections instead of thru IV's? I've never had to have one before. Thanks!

There are iron injectiions but they are not as effective and can leave huge stains at the injection site that do not go away. Iron is usually done IV and could be done post-op. They test you first to make sure you won't have a reaction. I would ask them to give you benadryl first.
If you meant will they do it in the recovery room? I don't think so, what if you did have a reaction right out of surgery? If you meant post-op, yeah, they can do it then.

Ewwww stains don't sound appealing at all. I mean before I leave the hospital after surgery while I still have the IV in. Maybe that's too soon after. I've taken iron supplements before, but never had an infusion. I was slightly anemic during my pregnancies.

I have surgery on the 29th. They said it isn't low enough for an infusion since it is still in "normal" range. :(
