Hi Mary
Not to scare you, but I also had a lot of pain along with my hernia repair (same pain I had with tubal ligation). Instead of being outpatient, they kept me in the hospital overnight on a morphine pump. The pain was manageable after that at home. If you can, I would ask to be admitted at least over night with a pump.
Also, I know if you have to have me**** should not be the kind that I have. I emailed Dr. Gagner to ask him about it, will let you know when he responds.

Thanks...the surgeon says at least one night over, maybe 2.  I will use whatever pain meds they offer...and if you hear about which is the 'bad' type mesh, let me know!!!!!!  Thanks

To lower the risk of adhesion to small bowel, and make it easy for
reoperation in the future, the goretex dual mesh is the best for that,
unfortunately it is the most expensive and many Canadian hospitals do
not have it in stock, Request it when you see your surgeon in Ontario,
so they have it in the operating room, or have the budget approved.
