You're welcome.

See your doctor, but meanwhile just go REALLY slowly and don't let your brain get the wrong message.

BTW, I like Edina.  I think I got a manicure there--the shop uses the kind of gel nails I like--in a little mall over a MooseCoffee (the local brand, I forget the name) Place.  We had visited a  friend in Prior Lake and later spent our $$ in a casino.

You people take summer VERY seriously.

Definitely see your surgeon if you haven't.  But being a Band victim as well, I can tell you what they told me about "frothing".  If there is something at the top of your stomach, that is not digesting quickly, your body sends extra mucous to help digest it.  It is often LARGE quantities and frequently comes up.

You might just have some post-op swelling but worth a visit to the surgeon.  Sounds like your body isn't ready for the food you're providing it.  Also, anything dairy related causes more mucous too - so best to avoid that if possible.

IF, and only IF, he says everything is normal, Mucinex does help DRAMATICALLY.  It thins the mucous secretions so they are more likely to go down rather than up.  My Band surgeon told me that a few years ago and it literally was life-changing.

Best of luck, hope it goes away soon!

I agree with the others.  You really need to see your surgeon right away.   I would also stop eating dairy for at least a few days.

Don't mix your shakes in the blender this early out because it adds so much extra air.
Watermelon would have killed me as early out as you are.  Way too sugary.  Same with the Jamba juice smoothies.  I checked it out and there are 59 grams of sugar in a sml.
(16 oz. banana  berry) ...67 grams of carbs.  and  280 calories.  While we don't necessarily count calories, you do need to be very aware of carbs and sugar.  We absorb ALL the sugar we consume.  You need to concentrate on protein.    Sugar was the very devil for me and can still be an iffy situation at almost 2 years.

You are much more likely to reach goal if you low carb during your rapid wt. loss.  That is less than 50 grams of carbs in one day.

Hope this helps and you get the help you need soon.

Unfortunately the Jamba Juice smoothies (Strawberry Wild flavor) is one of the few things that I have been tolerating really well. Go figure. I had been getting the extra protein boost with the smoothie (30 grams) which is a good thing, but you make an excellent point about the carbs and sugar. My bad. I guess I'll be laying off those in the future.

Thanks for the tip about not blending the shakes. I'll try that tomorrow and see if it helps.

I am a little over eight months out. I had this happen a few times when I ate too fast or something that was way too dense. Usually happens if  I am eating on the go.

OMG it' s been forever since I experiened that but after I had my stomach stapled in 1985 I had it for months and then it subsided. I never did know what it was for sure. I thought it was saliva that was used to going thru to my stomach in droves when I had a full sized one and was a big eater but now I had a small pouch and couldnt eat much. It seemed that eating was what triggered it until my body learned I didn't ned that much anymore. It didnt matter what I ate and nothing helped. I remember the very first time it happened I was having a few bites of pizza and then having it all come up and all down my shirt when I was with a group of people eating and I didn't know what it was!

I asked my surgeon if this would happen to me. He said that is a side affect from a poorly done sleeve.

My sister's surgeon doesn't use the smaller bougie that some surgeons use because he thinks this a problem, among others, that a too small sleeve can cause.  (Some people are demanding bougies of 32 down to 28.  He used a 38, I think.)

But my guess is that the brain would sense any inability of food to pass right through there as a blockage, and react accordingly.

Thanks for asking.  She's almost three weeks post-op and HAS ventured out to see Mom...which is 30 miles each way...with her DH driving.

She wishes she could take NSAIDS for her hip bursitis.  She tried a topical and it seemed to work.  But at the same time--but probably not cause and effecct--several incision areas became irritated and then infected.  Her local PCP started her on antibiotics and she sees her surgeon today.

I suspect--because it manifested two weeks post-op--that one of her rotten spoiled cats went outside and then sat on her lap and "shared" stuff from outside.  Or some similar scenario.
