This is very upsetting to hear.  I think of her from time to time.

So--is she having continual obstructions and such now in addition to the previous gastro problems?  Or have those resolved a bit since the revision?

they seem to have gotten worse since the revision.....   not sure if more surgery, more manipulations equaled more scar tissue, causing more pulling and twisting...   no one is sure....  Mary

I am very sorry your niece has to experience this.  I have not seen Melody post in a long time.  Sometimes I think those with complications (whether they are DS related or not) get tired of complaining, or don't think there is anything that can be done and stop posting. Or perhaps they don't want to get pre-ops scared or bring the board "down".  But complications can happen to anyone.  I would hope people would still post just for moral support and to let pre-ops know that the DS, like any surgery, can have complications.  Life isn't always rosy.  Nor is the DS wonderful for everyone.  Thank you for sharing this.   I would like know what is happening with Melody if she ever wants to post something.  Please keep us posted about your niece.  She is in my thoughts and prayers.

Agreed! I think those with complications should post; it's extremely helpful for me, as a pre-op, to witness all possible complications that can occur.

Aw Marcy, I'm so sorry to hear that LynnBee's having problems still.   She's always had a special place in my heart - we had our surgeries around the same time, and my son attended MIT.      I'll echo another poster's query as to whether some type of auto immune disorder has been triggered.  I think if I was at the point that she is now, I'd consider a trip to Mayo or Cleveland Clinic.    My surgeon told me that is what he would recommend to someone having chronic problems, because they see more cases of ANYTHING than anywhere else in the country.

Please, give her my very best wishes.   We've corresponded quite a bit in the past.

I am so sorry to hear this. I side with Julie on this one and believe she needs to be at Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota.

Julie + Feeder,
I will certainly suggest it!    Thanks...  I appreciate everyones patience with my occasional rants and worry over her.  I keep repeating  She is an adult. I can not fix her.  I can only make suggestions.  The Docs have her best interests in hand.       By the 1,000th repeat, I (almost) believe it.    LOL      Mary

I am so sorry to read this, Mary. I also think of her from time to time because we shared the same surgeon. I just hate that her complications continue. Please give her my best and I am sending up some prayers for her.
