Boy, it's slow around here isn't it?

I bet you'll be able to pass your protein powders on to some people through the support group meetings. Have you mentioned their availability to anyone from there yet?

I don't go to support group....is that bad?  I'm kind of a loner.  I have you guys and my other friends and family that have surgeries. I already tolerate my sil and good friend Amy that have the lapband and all of the crap they deal with, I love them, but I don't know how I'd do in a room with them when I don't care or know them.  I think I'd leave more frustrated than supported.

Well, I went and broke down and bought my RTD protein again.  I love the taste, 30g whey and whey isolate, and 6g carbs.  I'm mixing one scoop of my powder in with it.  It tasted a lot better.  I'm trying to get 90g of protein in, my surgeon wants 120.  I've met 90 one day.  I average 60g.  Really I try to get the protein down, but my big focus is hydration.  I'm also cheap.  I paid 35 bucks for that protein damn it, I'm going to consume it!

Heidi,
Have you tried ebay for a cheap binder ?  Dale binders are one brand that work well. they have velcro  here is link http://www.daleabdominalbinders.com/?gclid=CKGvpLCd7KsCFZBb7 AodSR6UMQ

Use shopzilla of pricecomparison to find your best deal.

Also I think you have a lot to offer. There are people all at different stages. Input from everyone is valuable. The further out we get the more things are in the past, so fresh DS'ers are great !

I like RTD protein as well. Have you tried Protein Blitz ? Orange Mango is my fav. http://www.proteinblitz.com/

I also like http://www.amazon.com/Natures-Best-Isopure-Zero-drinks/dp/B0 012NZ9U0/ref=sr_1_8?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1318734827&sr=1-8   on occasion.. again google for best price, just trying to do links so you can see what I am mentioning.

As far as powder protein, I like IDS brand. http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/ids/multi.html with vanilla cinnamon and belgian chocolate being my favs.

I want to try some others as well, I will order some more samples from Vitalady with my next order.

As far as it being slow here.. it goes in waves it seems. Do not worry about using a cart at the store, that will not be forever, soon you will be buzzing around and wondering why everyone is so slow ! It's quite a ride indeed

And my ALL MEANS EAT, try what sounds good ! Just go slow in case it does not like you yet. In time almost everything will like you . We all progress a bit different.

Thanks for the great tips Miss Ginger!  I just luv ya you know. :)

I saw the cheap binders, but I just didn't want to wait.  My pieced together one does the job and I can use it down the road as a shaper.  Man, I just can't wait for those two incisions to heal.  I also have been ordered to take it easy.  I've strained some of my stomach muscles from to much activity too fast and this damn cough I can't get rid of.  I wish I knew about the binder to begin with and I would've ordered one.  Someone even said you can be issued one in the hospital!  Oh well.

I went to Costco today and got the Premier Nutrition chocolate shakes.  I love them.  They taste like a melted fudgecicle. Yum.  I'll check out your links too and thanks for taking the time to show them to me.  I very much appreciate it.

I guess I come here everyday, ok, multiple times a day and I don't see many questions that I can answer.  Some days are good though and I feel quite helpful. I don't just want to glean I want to impart.

Anyway, great to hear from you.

Thanks for posting these links!  I had been looking for a binder but the majority I find are "one size fits all" or go up to a size "much smaller than me."  So thank you again!  I went ahead and ordered a binder! :)

If life with your band sucks, you are not alone and it's not your fault.  Check out the failed lap band group!

Would you believe that it used to take about five days--or more--of posts to fill a page here?  That is, you could find every post started on the DS board over the period of a week, all on the first page.

But that was in the olden times.

I think our page is the most active and that is awesome.  We have the best surgery, we should have the best page.
