turkey brine recipe

I have used different brines for different recipes, depending on the flavor I am looking for. Here is the one I tend to use the most with pork chops:

btw, the creamed leeks in that recipe are to die for! I have yet to see a brine used for red meat but I like to brine turkey and pork. I have also brined chicken using leftover pickle juice or the juice from a jar of pickled jalapenos. I have never brined chicken when making fried chicken but I do let it soak overnight in buttermilk and sliced onions.
