OMG OMG OMG I'm approooooooved!!!!
Yey! I am so happy for you. My surgery was last year on November 4th last year. Down 145 lbs (my high weight was right before surgery - I lost weight on my water only, week long diet that I had to go on right before surgery so my surgery weight was a bit lower). It has been one hell of an interesting year. Not easy, but interesting. It goes by so fast, you'll be a year out in what feels like no time at all.

Well, I did not heal well. I had nutritional deficiancies going into surgery and it took me about 7 months to feel normal. I had problems eating (my sleeve was really small) and throwing up.
Everything is resolved now. Getting there was not easy, but the actual weight loss was. It fell off when I was not looking. There are aspects of your personhood that are tied up in being fat. It changes the status quo. I can't tell you how, as everyone's life is different, but things WILL change.
