Please list your go-to protein foods to help the carbaholics among us (including me)
I am only 3 weeks out but so far what works for me are:
1. a scrambled egg with a slice of American cheese mixed in.
2. A mixture of taco meat with refried beans mixed in, again with some cheese.
3. Canned Hormel chili
4. Meatloaf
5. Protein Drinks, I like GNC Chocolate

Love steak but can't do it anymore since surgery, 1 bite and I'm done.

Double scoop protein shakes
sausage, prefer patties
bacon, not very often though
eggs, every way possible
The Zone Perfect Sweet and Salty protein bars
chicken, getting tired of it lately
cheeseburgers, but only if they are cooked just right otherwise I'm done after 1 bite
more cheese!!

I buy large roasts at Sam's Club, cut them up into small portions, vacuum pack, then freeze so I can toss one into the fridge in the morning and pressure cook it at night.
Plain Greek yogurt mixed w//Mio. (Strawberry-watermelon is my favorite.)
String cheese and/or marinated boccacini.
We always have bacon in the house. I buy large packages at Sam's.
We almost always have boiled eggs in the house too.
Deli slices of ham or roast beef rolled up with cream cheese (and maybe a thin slice of pickle) inside.
I have several flavors of protein powder and different flavors of SF syrups. I play around with flavors a lot. Also, I make my shakes with 50% half & half, 50% water. I actually enjoy them and have one or two double scoop shakes a day.
At least once a week I prepare a new low-carb recipe, but only on my day off. I feel like I'm sort of snacking all day during the week because I don't prepare an "official meal" very often. Today however we roasted a turkey breast in the Flavorwave oven. It was my brother's birthday and I asked what he wanted for his birthday dinner and he said he wanted Thanksgiving dinner, never mind that we'll be having Thanksgiving dinner in just over a month. So I'll be snacking on turkey breast for the next couple of days.

We've done this in the past and it was REALLY helpful to me at the time. Can we do it again? Just list your protein go-to items that you rely on as a big part of your DS diet. I'll start:
Cake Shakes
Brok's Pizza
Eggs cooked every which way
Fried cheese with SF syrup.
What are your favorite protein foods and snacks?
~Becky
Cake shake originally from Kayla.
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
4 T splenda
1 T cocoa
1/2 tsp baking powder
Some vanilla
3 T oil
Enough water to make a thin batter.
Taste the batter....should taste good.
Microwave for 35 seconds.
Top with whipped cream or cream or half and half or catenary ice cream.
Hope I remembered this off the top of my head. There's been all sorts of threads on this.

Few things:
I like my cottage cheese savory, so I season w salt and pepper, maybe a bit of Italian salad dressing
Cheese sticks save my life almost every day
I batch cook for myself--single mom--with really appealing things so I can reheat when I am busy w the kids (so all the time)
I have found my holy grail slow cooker chicken recipe: 1-2 lbs skinless, boneless chicken or tenders, salt, pepper and paprika them in slow cooker, rough chop (my preference) an onion and put on top. one can of C. of Mushroom soup, few good glugs of sherry. High for three hours. The best! I make at least once a week.
Anything over spagetti squash. I really helps!
