Sleep meds?

I use temazepam. It doesn't give me the nasty side effects that Lunesta and Ambien did, and it KO's me every time.

Ambien is really pretty useless in the long run.

Seroquel made my knees hurt and was just a little too effective...for a few hours. I'd usually end up waking up too soon and be unable to fall back asleep.

Trazodone may work for you.

What worked for me, ultimately, was Amitriptyline. It's a tricyclic antidepressant that I take as a migraine preventative. I've been taking it for several years now and can not sleep without it. Hell, I can't even get sleepy without it!

Once caveat here: the above are all anti psychotic and/or anti depressants and as such, mess with your serotonin levels. When I was first put on Amitriptyline, my dose was way too high and I ended up in the ICU for several days from Serotonin Syndrome. Work closely with your doctor if you decide to use one of these medications.
