Keyna (DivaKay) Update

 I spoke to Kenya this evening.  She had her RNY to DS revision with Dr Roslin and is back admitted to the hospital with a small leak.  She went to a bariatric COE locally (we live near each other), and they wanted to treat her there, but Roslin wanted her transferred to his care at the hospital downstate.  Both the surgeon here and Roslin think that the leak is small enough that it should heal on its own with no need for another surgery, so fingers crossed for her.  She's on TPN has a CT scan tomorrow to look at the progress.  The leak is in the sleeve.

She also has colitis, which she said may have been brewing in there before surgery.  She's on a bunch of different antibiotcs for that.

Kenya sounded great for all she's been through, so please keep her in your thoughts.

Even in highly competent and experienced hands,  things can go wrong.  This is not to say anybody is at "fault,"  but just a reminder that surgery carries risks and we all have to remember that.
