Just remember that this is a public website. ANYONE can see your posts, your name, your photos..and everything you have ever said about yourself.
There are a lot of nutcases out there. Personally, I would never ever use my real full name on a public website or put photos of myself or members of my family or my friends on a public webstite. Especially not one where such personal information was being discussed.

Yes, you should change it. If you're lucky and no damage has been done yet, you might get away with it. Unfortunately, it will be in cached versions of the forums for quite some time, but that can't be helped. You can at least make it a tiny bit harder for newcomers to show up at your front door.

1--you're back on booze and blow and relate a few episodes and neglect to ponder the wisdom of sharing THAT info until you are in rehab and Child Protective Services have placed your kids with your mother whom you hate. (This was before I got to the site.)
2--all about your fun weekend when you screwed ALL the guys in the apartment and how you brought home and shared an STD with your boyfriend. Well, now-former-boyfriend. I watched this one go down.

1. I was bored. I didn't like the damn smelly noisy little *******s anyway! I thought Rehab was a detox spa. If someone had of told me otherwise I would have bought more than a fluffy dressing gown and mud pack.

It has nothing to do with your profile. You can type your name into Google and the first thing that will probably show is your activity here on OH. ANyone can come here and see that you are active and see what state you have listed under your Avatar...etc. Making your name something "not as easy" to search prevents that.
