Malabsorption further out post-op
I am only about 4 wks out from surgery. I still haven't had a "shart" or orange slick yet, and I don't even have a BM every day. I do pass gas daily, though. I wonder if it's because of my 200cm common channel, or just the fact that I don't eat much right now. Is it normal to NOT have those issues?
PS Carla, I am sure you'll lose the last of your weight. When I had a breast reduction years ago, I lost about 15 lbs in the 2 months after the surgery, almost effortlessly. I don't know why exactly, but the same thing may happen for you too.

Thank you so much for your support. I am doing my shakes and when I eat I stay with the protein rules but still can't eat but a few bites.
I am not suffering at all or feel deprived at all. I always want something then go to fridge, look at it and change my mind lol.
Hopefully when I am turned loose to restart my walking program I might eat better but I will make sure I get the shakes in.

When I begin to question whether my DS is "broken" ... I go out to dinner with friends. In no time, I am full and I know the restriction is still in place! lol
I'm not quite three years out, and I can drink a little milk now, and I do lose a little slower now than in the beginning, but if I stick to "the rules" I still lose. I have not gained a pound in three years ... the worst that's happened when I am the least compliant is that my weight loss stalled. When I went back to "the rules" ... I lost again. Fat wasn't the problem; carbs were. If I eat my protein first, I'm fine.
Yes, it's still working ...

Thanks for posting and sharing that JC. It is always nice to have support. I am just so happy with my DS that I look at everyone who is over wt and I want to help them now.
