It was probably only 24 to 48 hours that I had last taken my B complex.

Veryinteresting abou tthe MCV.  Thank you so much.  I think you may be on to something and I need to look at my B again.  I'll bring this up to the surgeon and the hemotologist.  Thanks so much.  I really appreciate your feeedback.

Hi Christina,
Shoot Emily an email and let her know your labs are in. They don't usually let her know, so you may want to give her a heads up and let her know you're worried. Email: [email protected]  If your appointment is next week, maybe you could see if she has time to give your labs a look or meet us at support group on Sep 6th and see if she has some suggestions.

Your labs are showing you are anemic but anemia can be caused by several reasons not just iron deficiency and you obviously dont' have iron deficiency.  An iron of 70 and a ferritin on 90, is by no means deficient and no hematologist will give Iron infusions with numbers like that.

You need to get your vitamin B12 and folate levels checked.  These can cause anemia as well and are very common after weight loss surgery.

If you dont have B12 or folate levels, please ask your doctor to do them next week.

I will let the others work on your zinc and vitamin A>

Thank you for your response and taking time to do so. It was very ehlpful and I appreciate it much.  I will look deeper into my B12 levels.  It shows that they are ok, but now I'm concerned I messed them up because I took a B complex maybe 24 hours befor the test.

Thanks again!
