I am looking forward to..............
I thought it would be cool to see what others are looking forward to doing after we loose our extra weight. I have not been able to get on a roller coaster for years and even though I am 64 years old I would LOVE to ride them again. I am not sure about the newer metal twisting turning upside down ones but the good old fashioned wooded roller coasters were great! The wife and I set a goal to visit the State fair next year, we haven't been in 25 years! We used to love to go look at all the displays and visit the animal barns, if I am up to it after the surgery I may even try some fair food!
Roller coasters was one of the many things I looked forward to as well. All of them. The twisties and the flippers and the good ole' wooden ones. I found that my ability to fit into them was wonderful. I also found that my level of nausea intolerance was remarkable. I had never been nauseated on a roller coaster. Never thought I would be, but I was. I never actually spewed, but gosh I wanted to. Now on the old fashioned wooden one..... You do not have the shock absorbing capabilities that you once had. The first feeling I got was overwhelming regret. When I lost my weight, I lost 97% of my ass. I almost have a completely exposed tail bone. That tailbone is the exact spot that every pounding, hammering jolt is directed. It is seriously like someone is standing behind you with a chisel and a hammer trying to knock the tip of it off for you. As a side thought..... Maybe getting someone to do that first might have helped me. I would rather ride the newer ones. I can handle the sickies way better than the jackhammer on my tailbone.
I've also done zip-lining, white water rafting, and have been out on the beach for 8 straight days with my shirt off. First time since I was probably like 12 years old. I'm a bit older and a bit flabby, but I feel so comfortable in my skin now.

what a wonderful goal. wait until you realize, that all in the same day, you have taken that roller coaster ride (or 2), visited the animal barns, looked at all the handmade goods, walked all over the fair and nothing hurts. feet, knees, back, hips. you will have so much energy.
when i realized i could not only sit in a restaurant booth, i could turn sideways in it, i just about lost it and cried.
can't wait to read about your goal. wishing you the best of luck.

You guys are so right...I was always so self conscious at theme parks and I Live in orlando!! It was a nightmare..now I love, love, love the parks and ride everything at least once!!
On another note, at 3.5 yrs out I still get excited about stuff. The last time I went to Las Vegas I was with my late husband, we had a nice time but I was very heavy and it was so hot. I didnt really want to get dressed up and party either. I am going again in October with my best girlfriend and I'm already planning what to wear and which clubs and restaurants we are going to!!
I can;t wait to see all your WOW's as they happen!! Go ride those coasters guys!!

Had a band in 2005 at 280lbs, had band removed and DS done on Jan 22nd 08 at 220lbs in Spain, now 135lbs and a size 4!! Happy as a Clam!!Dontcha love the DS? It's the best tool around!!
Next item on my bucket list is zip lining.... We parasailed this past year. We did that at Half Moon Cay during the DS Cruise and I even video taped it from up in the air. It was absolutely breath taking !
I love roller coasters as well, although we do not live close to any. I think the biggest thing that is wonderful, between the DS and my new knee, is I can walk forever and not be tired, or in pain. That is truly a blessing ! When we were on a getaway this summer I walked do much DH was tired ! LOL He even said, "gesh between the knee and weight loss, you are not having any trouble this summer !"

Some of the things I look forward to are:
1. Going to an amusement park with my kids
2. Going shopping for clothes in the same store as my kids
3. Being able to fit in a booth again
4. Fitting behind the steering wheel without having to sit back so far that I can barely reach the pedals
5. Fitting in any chair and not wondering if I'll get stuck or break it
6. Trying new things, living life to its fullest, and living a long healthy life for me and my family
